The Three Bodies Method™ Course

“The purpose of this exercise is not merely to feel the motion, but it is to think how you adjust your hands in order to become one with that motion. Because it is how you palpate that is the key to what you palpate. Sutherland states that you take all of the tissue and establish a meaningful contact. He describes that it is like a bird taking hold of a twig. The bird aligns on the twig and then applies just enough tension, if you will, in order to hold on."

— Viola Frymann D.O.

The Three Bodies Method™ Course:

An Extensive Introduction Course to the Biodynamic Osteopathic Manual Therapeutic (BOMT) Techniques Program

THE PREREQUISITE COURSE TO APPLY TO THE BOMT FULL TRAINING - A COURSE THAT ALSO STANDS ALONE…

This introduction course called The Three Bodies Method™ stands on its own as an experiential immersion that will teach practitioners biodynamic osteopathic principles and indirect OMT techniques stemming from the native, historical, and modern masters. It also is a required prep course for participants who are interested in applying to the full BOMT™ (Biodynamic Osteopathic Manual Therapeutic Techniques) program that begins in Sept 2025

The Three Bodies Method™  class offers students a complete deep dive into palpation and the BOMT work as well as an introduction the visceral spine, and the ability to experience palpation of the viscera, vessels, nerves, through the deep fascial chains. Different levels of palpation are applied in different ways to specific anatomical interchanges (essential fascial chain meeting junctions) in order to dialogue with the three different bodies that exist harmoniously in the system: the structural body (soft tissue,) fluidic body, and electromagnetic body.

Theory in Practicum presentations and demonstrations in the course are rooted in traditions from modern hands as well as from the hands of Dr. Andrew Taylor Still, Dr. Sutherland, Dr. Ann Wales, Dr. Viola Frymann, and more. Dr. Andrew Taylor Still, the founder of traditional Osteopathy was inspired by his masters from the Shawnee and Cherokee people in Missouri (with whom A.T. Still D.O. spent time with for a portion of his life.) Texts, published papers, and theories are referenced from Dr. John Littlejohn D.O., Dr. Barber D.O., Dr. Becker D.O., etc.

Anatomical interrelationships are a key part of this course. The soft tissue techniques presented are intended to inspire seasoned practitioners techniques that support the visceral, fascial, neural, arterial, lymphatic (fluidic,) and musculoskeletal systems. Light touch combined with specific focus guides practitioners to dive consciously into the work together with the client to witness change. Students will learn about physiology and mechanics via powerpoint presentations and will integrate theory by engaging in movement (Movement with the Anatomy) and guided visualization (Reflections in Nature & Anatomy) exercises.

This course is open to post-graduates including LMTs, Osteopaths, BCST, and other (some may require a portfolio review.)
